EPD Configurator Application

Highlights

In 2017 Thermo Fisher Scientific, a world leader in Applied Science with a presence in over 50 countries, turned to PSA with a new software development project. Thermo Fisher Scientific needed an Electronic Personal Dosimeters (EPD) tracking system that could integrate seamlessly into their working process.

Challenge

The primary challenge PSA faced was to complete design, implement, and perform functional testing of the EPD Configurator Application with an aggressive delivery schedule.

Business goals included optimization of internal workflow, improvement of tracking, and organization of all available EPD models.

Our technical goals included making the application compatible with a wide range of Thermo Fisher Scientific products, allowing for the full configuration of any of the customer's dosimeter models— both new and refurbished.

Solution

Within three months, the PSA team of software engineers and experts successfully delivered a software solution that was able to search and identify a dosimeter part number—unique ID—based on a certain criterion and collect data for calibration. The application also allowed for the creation of a new EPD part number, with the capability of setting a necessary EPD type, features, and configuration.
